After a rapid turnaround following the tour of the south of France, our Mooney was airborne and headed for La Rochelle. Climbing into the TMA we were rapidly cleared to FL100 and headed overhead Southampton before a crossing via the Channel Islands. The clouds parted briefly affording a spectacular view of the crystal waters on the Jersey coast as we soared overhead. An uneventful cruise in the cool air before a let down into the ILS as the sun set over the Atlantic on landing. We treated ourselves to dinner by the harbour before a day of exploring and a swim to cool off at the end of the day. The trip home was uneventful, stopping in Jersey to pick up tax-free fuel before an evening landing back at home-base.
